For years my family has enjoyed the fun and friendship you have provided us with your farm and restaurant. I remember taking field trips as a kid to the farm too.
About a year ago my parents took my wife and I to the restaurant for my wifes birthday. Joe came right up and asked us how we were doing and if we were having a great time. Of course we were because it's always fun at Joe Huber farm.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are from spending time with my family at the farm. Someday my children I'm sure will have the same experience.
We love you Huber family. Joe, you are missed but not forgotten. Prayers and good thoughts are headed your way Huber family. God bless.

While I never met Mr. Huber face to face, as an adult, I remember when I was in elementary school visiting the Huber Farms, going on a hay ride, and picking out a pumpkin to take home. The place was HUGE & awesome for a young boy to admire. A few years ago I re-visited the Huber Orchard & Winery with my parents, wife, and oldest daughter. It was just as beautiful as I remembered, and Mr. Huber was the reason! While Starlight will never be the same, with the smile on his face when children were running around playing, in the commercials he used to be featured in on TV, we all know that Mr. Huber will be smiling down from up above on the beautiful country that he called home!

How sad it is to hear of Joe Huber's death. Every year since I was a child we have gone to the Huber farm and had a family outing. I was blessed to have met him on several occasions and am comforted to know that he will live on in the hearts of all who cherish the wonderful starlight farm. Thanks Joe for being you and a lifetime of memories. Rest in peace my friend.

I had the privilidge of taking care of Mr. Huber this past year a Baptist East Hospital. He was always pleasant , and never complained. I enjoyed hearing him tell me stories of his beginning days of his farm. Whenever I think of him I will always remember him with a smile.

Deepest sympathy to the Huber family. Our family looks forward to visiting the Huber farm and resturant many times a year. What we will miss most is seeing Joe Huber announcing the arrival of the strawberrys in the spring and the pumpkins in the fall on WHAS. Our community has lost a special business man who has brought a unique experience to this area, he will never be forgotten!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of saddnes. It seems crazy that he is gone but he is not really because he lives in the farm and he will be forever be remembered everywhere you look . I will remember him when he would come in the morning for coffee or when he would come over to the kitchen and needed this or that for Bonnie because she was cooking and he would say you better give me a little more cause he needed to keep Bonnie happy and he would say it with a smile. He will always be in my heart and prayers and as for the family to. He was one of a kind.

My thoughts are with the Huber Family. My family visited your farm at least 3 times a year while my kids were growing up. Christmas trees, pumpkins, strawberry picking. All memories from Hubers. Now my children are taking their children there for the same memories. Thank you for sharing your wonderful life with the world.

When I came to Bartholomew County REMC 18 years ago, Joe was one of the Indiana Statewide Directors that I sought out to give me council and advice. His wisdom, his willingness to allow me to ask the questions I needed to ask, and his proactive role in the cooperative world helped me become the strong supporter of the membership driven REMC system that I am today. Also, being loyal to Purdue did not hurt. We will all miss Joe, but he has touched all of our lives and have made us a better person than we were before we met him.

We wish you peace.

My family and I met Mr. Huber a few years ago on a visit. He welcomed us like old friends and took us on a cart tour. He talked about his grandchildren, his farm and a field of Lantana. The memory of that day lingers and I feel honored to have known him for that brief moment.

I first saw the Joe Huber Farm in 1961, invited by one of Joe's sisters. Then, it was just a farm. Since then, my wife and I have visited the farm and restaurant many times with our children and grandchildren. What a wonderful place Joe has made for the community. Joe always made one feel like talking with you made his day. Many fond memories. God Bless the Huber family and may there always be a Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant.

It is with greatest sympathy I send this email today. I turned 30 just a few months ago, and cannot remember a year that my family and I did not make a trip to the farm. Before my grandfather died 9 years ago, he and his wife would make the trip from Henderson, KY to travel with us to Hubers to sit and sip wine at the winery. I have now continued the traditions my parents began so long ago with my own children. As silly as it may sound, I truely believe Hubers to be the happiest place in the world. Just ask the family and friends I preach that to every fall. The Huber's have created a place full of fun, excitement, and such a rich family environment that it is impossible not to fall in love with it all. I can only hope that the traditions that Joe helped to make for so many families will be continued by those he left behind.

My family has been going to Huber's for about 14 years now. My kids love going and picking apples and of coarse getting the yearly pumpkins is a must. I have enjoyed company picnics and outings many of times. Your families farm has brought joy and memories to so many people. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, past, present and future. God Bless.

I grew up in southern Indiana and remember the special visits to Huber's. Bonnie and Joe were always so pleasant and welcoming. I still have memories of my grandfather and Mr. Huber laughing together.
I have moved away but whenever I return to Indiana, to visit my family, I have to make my visit back to the place I loved so much as a child. Now I even take my own children with me.
Huber's is not just a place but a representation of warmth and togetherness for me.

With Deepest Sincerity,
Dawn

You are in our prayers. I grew up in Charlestown and now live in Plainfield, just west of Indianapolis. Your family has touched mine through the years in many special ways. We will miss Mr. Huber, but will always remember the valuable lessons he taught. My children and sister’s children all picked black berries last summer and made many special memories at your place with our mom. We are no doubt one of thousands of families today who are remembering Joe Huber with a lump in our throats and warmth in our hearts. May you be comforted by God’s sweet Spirit.

Our family, like so many others, was captivated by the seasonal splendor of the Huber Farm. The scent of spring strawberries and fall apple butter will always be with us as will the genuine kindness of one of God's angels. Although I never met Mr. Huber, his spirit was present among the rich fruit and vegetation of his beautifully maintained orchards. God needed a gardener and he called Mr. Huber to tend to His Eden.

I fondly remember the Farm, and enjoyed even the drive to get there! My youngest son happened to get in a commercial, hoping off of a wagon during apple picking season, I still have the video! The pumpkins ALWAYS came from Hubers.

Since I'm from Orange County CA, I've always thought of Hubers as a smaller version of Knotts Berry Farm, but with more personality.

God bless the Huber family!

We were so sorry to hear about Joe. This past year we bought the book he had written, and we were so inspired by the love and dedication he had for his family and his love of the land. What a remarkable life he had and we are so happy to have known and loved him. Know we are praying for you during this time and will miss him. What a wonderful legacy to his life to be able to look around at the farm and see his life's work continue to bring so much joy to so many. We will miss you.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. We the community of Southern Indiana have lost a beloved friend, one that always had time for a quick "hello, it's good to see you!" . Craig and I now in Georgetown, Ky but have come back to Huber's many, many times with our children and extended family to the Huber Farm and Restaurant for a day of fun, food and family!!. We always sought out Joe just to say Hi. Craig (he worked for Channel 32 for 7+ years) remembers coming up to the Restaurant to do stories and Joe would always make sure he and his reporter had a meal. To us, Joe Huber was one of a kind and thought we will certainly miss his presence at the Farm and Restaurant, we will have wonderful memories in our hearts.

God bless your family,
