On Saturday, May 20th, Lanesville Heritage Weekend will be hosting their Annual Relay For Life Tractor Ride to Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant in Starlight, Indiana. There is likely to be around 50 tractors involved in this fun cross country ride. A rainbow of tractors from the 1940’s to the 1980’s will parade through the countryside all the while raising money for cancer research. The drivers will arrive at Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant around Noon after a long morning ride to eat dinner and enjoy a break. Everyone is invited to visit and enjoy this beautiful array of Iron Horses. They will be lined up in the grass parking area across from the restaurant and should be there from Noon to 1:30 pm. Feel free to take photos, inspect, discuss, and reminisce about these Iron Horses that transformed America into the breadbasket of the world. You may just find the one you had when you were a kid!
The drivers look forward to your visit and welcome the opportunity to tell their American Iron Horse story. Someone you might not expect to see on a tractor will be current Indiana Senator Ron Grooms. This will be his 2nd ride and as a city boy, he has found a farm activity that he really enjoys. He may not know the horsepower of the tractor he is driving, but he can tell you about driving one in a pouring down rain, which happened on his first ride.
